Cheerleading Program Descriptions

Please note that the Cheerleading Program is designed for students interested in having fun, learning new skills, and being involved in an athletic activity.  Other than the designated competitive squads, they are not competitive in nature and do not require students to purchase special equipment or uniforms.  We will place students into an appropriate level class based on age, ability, and maturity levels.

Beginner Cheer:  This class is designed for learning basic cheerleading techniques and skills.  Students will receive instruction in entry-level tumbling, jumps, arm and hand motions,   (45 minutes)

Intermediate Cheer:  Children learn basic gymnastics skills in a playful atmosphere, filled with positive reinforcement and successful experiences.  The development of self-esteem through successful completion of tasks along with promotion of strength, flexibility and coordination are central to the pre-school curriculum.  (60 minutes)

Advanced Cheer:  Our recreational program is designed to develop coordination, strength, flexibility and agility through progressive gymnastics skills for beginner and intermediate gymnasts.  Children will learn new skills on vault, beam, floor, bars and trampoline.  Each child experiences success and individual accomplishment with each new skill learned.  As students progress, they can be moved to more advanced classes that will enhance their skills even further.  (60 minutes)

All-Star Squad (Competitive):  An extension of the recreational program for gymnasts who have progressed through the beginner and intermediate skills.  (60 minutes)

If your child is interested in participating in the competitive programs offered at Action Gymnastics, please feel free to discuss the options with the office manager.
