1.  When can I sign up?
You can sign up and start at any time.  We will prorate your first month.
2.  When is tuition due?
Tuition is due on or before the 10th of each month.  There is a $15 late fee assessed on all balances after the 10th.  Please see the Policies & Procedures page for more detailed information.
3.  Do you offer the same classes in the summer?
Yes.  Unlike many dance and other athletic activities children are involved in, our classes meet year round.  You may sign up at any time.   Please note that from time to time and due to staffing issues or low enrollment, we may have to add or drop a class from our schedule.
4.  Can we stop for a month or so at a time?
Yes, you may freeze your membership for a month or so at a time although you will need to request this through the office prior to the beginning of the month in which you wish to freeze.  You will not be asked to pay for that month; however, we will not be able to guarantee that the day/time your child is enrolled will be available upon your return.  If you wish to keep the spot open for the month in which you will be out, you will have to continue paying for the spot and based on availability, we will provide you with make-up times the following month.  Please see the Policies & Procedures page for more detailed information.
5.  Can I bring a younger child with me to the Mommy & Me class?
Unfortunately, this is not an option we are able to provide.  The Mommy & Me class requires active involvement by the participating adult.  You will need to make alternative arrangements prior to signing up for this class.
6.  What is the difference between the cheer classes and the tumbling classes?
The cheer classes are for children who have not had a lot of experience or training in the aspects of cheering.  They incorporate all aspects of cheering including jumps, building skills, body positioning, dance and some tumbling skills.  The tumbling classes are designed to focus only on that particular aspect of cheering and is open to students of all levels of ability.
7.  Is there a competitive cheer squad at the gym?
Yes, we typically enroll for the cheer squad in the spring.
8.  Can I stay at the gym while my child is in class?
Absolutely!  We have a lobby with seating and 3 large glass windows so the parents can watch their children during class.  Please note that parents are not allowed into the gym area at any time however.
9.  How are the classes grouped?
In our recreational classes we group the students according to their age.  These classes are primarily beginner and intermediate levels. Once a student masters the skills associated with these two levels, we will invite that student to participate in one of our advanced classes.   We group our advanced classes along with our team program on skill first then age if necessary.
10.  What is the student/teacher ratio?
Pre-school classes are 6:1.  Mommy & Me classes are 11:1.  5-8 Year Old Recreational classes are 7:1.
11.  Do you accept credit or debit cards?
No.  We are set up only to receive cash, checks or money orders.
12.  Do you have a recital at the end of the year?
No, due to the fact that parents can come in and watch at any time we do not coordinate a recital.
13.  What is a "Recreational" class?
Recreational means:  non-competitive beginner and intermediate levels.  These classes are designed to teach the basics of tumbling and gymnastics in an easy going, non-competitive environment.
14.  How do I get my child involved in competitive gymnastics?
Communicate your interest to the coaches so that they know your goals.  The key elements for progressing through the sport of gymnastics are:  strength, flexibility, skill and the ability to make corrections quickly.  Students generally move to the next level upon a coaches recommendation.
15.  What can we do at home to help our gymnast excel?
Encourage strength work such as basic calisthenics i.e.:  push-ups, sit-ups, chin ups.  Take time at home to do stretches.  Coming into the gym once or twice a week and doing stretching for 10 to 15 minutes may not be enough to excel quickly.
16.  What are the chances that my child will make it to the Olympics?
Gymnastics is shaped like a pyramid with the larger percentage of gymnasts at the lower levels and the smaller percentage at the higher levels.  It is not impossible for any one gymnast to go "all the way".  But we recommend that the main focus be on enjoying the sport for all of the positive attributes it incorporates at each level such as developing higher self-esteem, a sense of self-accomplishment, discipline, a strong body and mind and respect for team mates and coaches.  Your child will be an absolute success even if she does not go all the way to the Olympics.  In the sport of gymnastics, it is not the destination, it's the journey.
17.  How long does it take to learn a back handspring?
There is no way to predict how fast a person is going to learn any skill.  Every one is different and everyone has different capabilities.  We will provide your tumbler with the appropriate lead up skills and drills to learn back handsprings, and all other skills as quickly and safely as possible.  At our gym we have many surfaces to work on and with.  We use the tumble track (a 40 foot long trampoline sitting two feet off of the ground) an air-track (a 45 foot long fun castle designed to be a very bouncy and forgiving surface), various incline mats and skill cushions, a Pac-Man mat, a double mini-trampoline, a spotting belt and harness and a 42’-42’ spring floor.  All of these surfaces and our professional instructors will help your tumbler learn as quickly as possible.  Strength, flexibility, the ability to make corrections and a positive attitude will help tremendously.
18.  Is the gym closed when the schools are closed?

We do not follow the school system's calendar.  We close for major holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Good Friday, Labor Day and Memorial Day.  We do not necessarily close for all national holidays such as Veterans Day and Columbus Day.  We will always advertise closure in advance on the information board in the lobby and on the web site calendar.  Always feel free to call as we usually change our answering machine to reflect the fact that the gym is closed for a holiday.

19.  Does the gym close for icy/snowy weather?
We will most likely have staff members available to teach classes even on snowy days, but if you are not comfortable driving in inclement weather stay home and do a make up class at some other time.
20. Is my account credited if the gym closes on a holiday?
Our tuition is based on a 48 week year (or an average of 4 weeks per month).  We will never charge you more when you get five classes within a month but we also will not prorate your account for gym closures due to holidays or acts of nature.
